Single Sign on with Microsoft Active Directory

Ordinarily, users sign into TwineSocial using their an email and password or via Facebook or Twitter. Additionally, TwineSocial supports single sign on via Microsoft Active Directory.

Setting up single sign on with TwineSocial via Microsoft Active Directory is easy. Simply:

  1. Update your existing TwineSocial user to use Azure Active Directory to sign in.
  2. Follow the instructions from Microsoft to setup access.

Step 1: Configure Your User to Sign in with Azure

Assuming you have already created a TwineSocial account, walk through the following steps:

  1. Within your account, navigate to the Users nav on the left. Click the name of the user you would like to move to Azure sign in.
  2. In the user editor, change Sign in Method to "Azure Active Directory." Please note that the email address of the user within TwineSocial must match the email address associated with the user's Microsoft account.
  3. Click Save.

Note: Follow the same process to create new TwineSocial users who can login via SSO with Azure. In each case, permissions for the user are configured within TwineSocial, not Azure.

You can now continue by configuring Azure Active Directory.

Step 2: Configure Azure Active Directory

To configure Azure Active Directory to allow logins from TwineSocial, follow Microsoft's step-by-step instructions.

Once you have completed the steps outlined in Microsoft's documentation, you can login with Azure by clicking Sign in with Microsoft on the TwineSocial sign in page.
